Q&A has designed the theme and graphics for this event since 2015 and look forward to working with the Kindering team every year! Founded in 1962 by five Bellevue-area mothers of children with disabilities, the organization embraces children of diverse abilities and their families by providing the education and therapies to nurture the skills to soar. Today they are the largest early support center in Washington State, reaching over 10,000 infants and toddlers each year.

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of their fundraising gala, we toured the region, depicting iconic details through a collection of sketches.

OUR APPROACH

The Seattle-area is abundant with natural beauty, unique experiences, and of course—quirkiness. On this 30th fundraising celebration, the Kindering team wanted to give an ode to the city and honor the riches of the region. As with years past, we approached the theme from the vantage point of inspiring the gala team and giving them a solid foundation to expand the idea into all facets of the event.

OUR SOLUTION

Once we landed on the map concept, adding sketches of the region’s gemstones wasn’t a problem. With 30 individual icons in the mix, it became more of a practice in restraint for each of the 80 pieces delivered.

Thanks to our very own Izzy Oliveira who went back to the literal drawing board each time we yelled for a graphic. “Tulip bouquet please! Now individual tulips! Get me some flying fish!” Not only did we outfit the venue with graphics and signage, our team came adorned with the theme on custom scarves, headbands, ties, pocket squares, and cravats. Fabric design and sewing also by Izzy.

Illustrated placards throughout the venue and larger than life cutouts gave the space a joyful and exuberant feeling for the evening.
