The City Club of San Francisco
What began 10 years ago as a request for design updates and tweaks has since developed into a trusted, ongoing partnership. The historic City Club of San Francisco knows the value of marketing—the club not only survived but thrived during the deepest recession of its 32-year history. Over many of those years, we helped to evolve the club’s marketing pieces and print advertising.
After an extensive penthouse remodel, The City Club saw an opportunity to fully revamp its image. We started with its online presence—the club needed a website that highlighted the beauty and uniqueness of this San Francisco Art Deco gem and had a voice to match. With spectacular interiors that include a Diego Rivera mural, gold and silver leaf ceiling tiles, and many more treasures, it wasn’t hard to find hooks to help The City Club sell itself and its services. A refresh to the club’s logo gave us an opportunity to pull beautiful details from the architecture—the strong Art Deco typeface is now grounded by a lovely, delicate fleur-de-lis taken from a 10th-floor ceiling tile.
